All participants are encouraged to take advantage of the practice opportunity, especially if they are using the system or participating in a particular type of auction (English, Japanese or Dutch) for the first time.
The practice auction will give you the opportunity to understand and experience the system as a participant, and to assess the available bidding time and options. The practice will give you the opportunity to learn about the auction settings before the live auction, to view interactive tutorials on the bidding interface if necessary, or to seek out Fluenta Customer Support with technical questions.
Depending on the organizer's settings, the system will allow you to practice before the live auction starts. At any time during the practice period, you can log in and bid on the items specified in the auction as practice bids; the system will automatically respond to your bids immediately after the validation of the bids received. During the practice auction, all settings are the same as in the live auction (except for automatic extension and starting prices). During the practice, the system deletes the submitted bids every hour. After deletion, participants can begin the practice auction again from the starting price.
Entering the practice auction:
- Once the exercise has started, the status will change to "practice in progress" and the "eye" (enter) icon will appear in the actions column, allowing you to enter the practice interface.
- Before entering the practice auction, make sure you have the correct time zone set for your account. You can see the exact system time on the right side of the top menu bar.
- Click on the auction name on the overview page to check the details and settings of the auction.
- If the organizer has set up an Access gate, this is the first thing that appears when you enter the practice auction interface; you can only enter the practice after reading and accepting this document.
The bidding interface shown in the practice auction is largely identical to the live auction bidding screen.
The system indicates at the top of the practice interface that the auction is in the practice phase.
