The bidding interface

The exact content of the auction bidding screen depends on the type of auction.

Information always displayed on the bidding screen:

• System time and server connection: the system time is displayed on the right side of the top bar of the screen, together with a "line" symbol (vertical |, diagonal / or \, horizontal -) which turns every second. If the server is disconnected, the "line" stops turning, and the time remaining displayed in the Auction ends in counter, described below, turns red.
• Auction ends in: depending on the number of minutes the organizer has set as the length of the auction or each round of the auction, the system counts down to show the participant how much time they have left to place their bids.

• Next to the countdown timer, you will find the basic auction details: scheduled end time, name and type.
• Owner message (optional): the owner or organizer or the auction may send a message visible to all participants.
  As a participant, you cannot reply to this message from within the system.
• System message: important events and information automatically displayed by the system.
• Items table: the items involved in the auction, with the information relevant to bidding.
  • The first column has an icon showing the bidding direction, and textual information when hovering over the icon, e.g. "Submit a lower bid to achieve a better rank"
  • Item name
  • Unit of measurement
  • Start price
  • Bid difference settings (min. difference, bid step values)
  • Lead bid (if the auction is not blind, the best bidder price is displayed)
  • Own lead bid
  • Rank: if set up by the organizer, after the current bid has been submitted, the system will indicate the overall or per-item ranking of the participant.
  • Total: depending on the organizer's settings, the system will show the total value under the items.
